Bucharest, June 26, 2025 — The Făgăraș Research Institute co-organized the event “Romanian Consortium for Philanthropy and Civil Society Research” alongside Lev Fejes, Melania Leșe, and Prof. Paul Sum (Research Center for Civil Society). The event was hosted at the Romanian American Foundation House in Bucharest.

Bringing together researchers and practitioners from across the country, the event aimed to create a shared research agenda, breaking down disciplinary silos and increasing the relevance and impact of studies in the field of civil society and philanthropy in Romania.

Participants engaged in a roundtable discussion on research gaps, followed by breakout sessions focused on identifying common ground, exploring funding and partnership opportunities, and drafting a two-year action plan.

The event emphasized the need for interdisciplinary collaboration and a coordinated approach to civil society and philanthropy research in Romania. Participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to building an active network of researchers and practitioners focused on producing relevant, actionable insights rooted in the realities of the sector.
