The COVID-19 outbreak has forced us all to stay at home or to keep distance from one another, and it has impacted most of what we are used to call `reality.` For social scientists, this represents a huge challenge, as our work is mostly based on building closeness in our relationships in the field. Drawing from multimodality as a collaborative, reflexive, and technologically aware paradigm of investigation, this webinar presents some methodological approaches in order to deal with distance through the use of creative technologies. By presenting an ongoing film project about three drag queen artists from São Paulo, we discuss a collaborative method based on video diaries and homemade performances.
