13 August, CALBOR – ora 12.00 (Romanian time, in person, in English)

The course consists of 4 meetings, once per week (1.5h each) and it focuses on practical instructions for conducting and archiving oral history accounts, a method of studying the past from the perspective of ordinary people.

Oral history gives voice to overlooked actors of the past and brings to front personal stories often missing in mainstream narratives, in media, or history textbooks. It is at the same time an accessible methodology that requires skills of listening, asking questions, and storytelling.

The participants to the one month oral history training summer program will have the opportunity to practice these skills during online workshop sessions and a short field research trip in Calbor. The last session of the course is dedicated to field practice, namely conducting interviews, transcribing, and archiving them in specific collections of the FRI Community Archive.

All participants will receive a certificate for this course.
