Dr. Mihai Șercăianu is a civil engineer and a committed professional for the use of technology in the service of communities. He has over 10 years of experience in GIS analysis process and has been involved in several national and international research and development projects. Mihai together with the MKBT: Make Better team is the initiator of “Alert – Seismic Risk Awareness Project – www.seismic-alert.ro. From 2016, the initiative stimulates civic involvement by data crowdsourcing and resources publishing for those potentially affected by a major earthquake”.

A graduate of the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest (TUCEB), he also holds a PhD in the field of civil engineering, with research focusing on web-GIS solutions for citizens. Mihai also acts as a lecturer within UTCB’s Faculty of Civil, Industrial and Agricultural Engineering and empowers young professionals to explore the real utilitarian aspects of public utility services.
