Urbanism and architecture workshop focusing on the Făgăraș Synagogue and its surroundings

01.08.2021

While the Synagogue roof restoration workshop is taking place, between August 5-8 we organized a workshop for exploring different ways for the design of the Cultural Center.

The workshop brought together 12 architects and students in architecture and experts on other relevant topics. During the workshop, the participants made sketches for transforming the building of the Synagogue into a multi-functional cultural center. The discussions started from a brief report developed by FRI and FCTF in partnership with several cultural organizations from the region and highlighted the expectations of cultural actors from such a cultural space.

The workshop is made possible by the collaboration among several institutions and organizations, including the Fagaras Municipality, the Center for Built Environment, Tara Fagarasului Community Foundation, the Fagaras Research Institute, and @HomeinFagaras.
