The event The Europe of the Post-89ers took place in Berlin on November 6-7, 2019, being organized by Prof. Timothy Garton Ash of the European Studies Center, University of Oxford and by Stiftung Mercator. The event is part of the Dahrendorf Programme for the Study of Freedom, bringing together young researchers and experts from several European countries. The program of the event included visits to historical locations related to the fall of communism, discussions with people with different perspectives on the fall of the communist regimes, and workshops on current topics impacting European countries, such as: populism, security, migration, and climate change.

With the occasion of the event, Dr. Stefan Cibian contributed to the project Europe’s Stories: Connecting past, present & future sharing his perspective on a foundational European moment.
