Gabriela Cocean Munteanu, Ph.D.

Research Fellow

Dr. Gabriela Munteanu is a researcher at the Geography Department of the Romanian Academy, Cluj-Napoca Subsidiary. She studied at the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca, where she also got her PhD in 2011. Her activity as a PhD student was also conducted under joint supervision at the Department of Chemical and Geological Sciences of the Modena and Reggio Emilia University. She worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Babeș-Bolyai University, studying karstic geomorphosites, their protection and management. She is committed to the study of mountain regions and rural mountain communities, especially the ones living in karst areas. She is a member of a Canine Search and Rescue Association, where she trains with her two Labradors for the upcoming exams and certifications.
