Paul Morbach, the ifa Cultural Manager of the German Community in Făgăraș, gave an interview about his stay and work in the region and made reference to our colleague Andrei Morar’s paper about the Făgăraș Synagogue, entitled “Sinagoga și comunitatea evreiască – istorie pierdută a Făgărașului”.

For Paul Morbach, the journey to “Fogarasch” from Germany at the beginning of July 2020 was not the first contact with Romania. After he had already traveled from Berlin to Istanbul with an Interrail ticket in summer 2008 and had made time for a cozy stopover in Transylvania, he applied for the temporary cultural manager position with the Federal German Institute for Foreign Relations (ifa), supporting the German Community from Făgăraș.
