It focuses on planning, preparing, and executing field research in environments such as conflict or post-conflict zones, remote and inaccessible locations, culturally sensitive areas, and closed authoritarian political settings.

Through hands-on training, participants will learn about risk assessment and minimization, the use of common research methods, and data management. By the end of the workshop, you will gain valuable insights into the practical, ethical, and methodological aspects of navigating challenging field settings.

This workshop is dedicated to researchers, Ph.D. candidates, and fieldworkers who conduct or plan to conduct research in challenging field settings.
