Făgăraș, July 15, 2024 (1.00 P.M. – 4.00 P.M.)

Research indicates that communication problems account for 85% of disagreements in the workplace. This course gives you the tools you need to deal with difficult circumstances. Conflict will always arise in human connection, but how we respond to it can have a significant effect on our relationships, productivity, and overall well-being. In this course on conflict communication, participants will study a range of concepts, procedures, and practical ways of managing and resolving conflicts in various contexts. With interactive sessions, case studies, and role-playing, participants will acquire useful communication skills like empathy, bargaining, active listening, and assertiveness. In addition, they will learn how to effectively manage their emotions, identify and address the underlying causes of conflict, and encourage collaborative problem-solving.

In this short course, we will introduce the most destructive relationship dynamics (criticism, stone-walling, defensiveness and contempt) that should be avoided and learn how to replace them with constructive interactions (day 1). In day 2, we will talk about power and misuse of power, what happens when we have too much or too little power. Finally, in day 3, we will focus on forgiveness and reconciliation, how they are different, how to apologize properly and timely. Each day will be accompanied by examples, role playing scenarios, listening and speaking activities.
