Emerging Engagements Between Central & Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa: Common Interests and Cooperation was organized on October 31, 2019, in Accra, Ghana, by Chatham House – The Royal Institute of International Affairs from London. Dr. Stefan Cibian held a presentation on The Context, Drivers and Outlook for CEE-SSA Relations in the first part of the event. Dr. Cibian highlighted the re-emerging trends between Central and Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa and highlighted potential avenues to be explored in the upcoming period by the countries in the two regions. He underscored, as well, the challenges that currently limit the depth and scope of the partnership, especially with regard to trade and investment.
