The Brain Drain, Brain Gain and Social Innovation workshop took place in Thessaloniki, Geece, between February 6-9, 2020. The event was organized by YouthNest and was funded by Bosch Alumni Network – International Alumni Center Berlin. The Workshop focused on the issue of migration and particularly the impact of brain drain on the local economy and social innovation practices. The participants had the chance to visit organizations and companies working on social innovation as well as the Thessaloniki Municipality which has a key focus on the topic of brain drain and brain gain. Ana Marica and Stefan Cibian attended the Workshop. The event took forward the discussion started at the Făgăraș Lab on Technology and Shrinking Communities in August 2019.
